Since coming to the legislature, I have made transportation issues facing our community a priority. Williamson County is one of the fastest growing counties in the state and the nation, and our infrastructure must be able to accommodate the increasing population. This significant challenge takes collaboration from each step of government to help secure the necessary funding at the federal, state and local levels that can ease our commute and access throughout Williamson County and Central Texas.
Last fall, I hosted a community forum with experts from all levels of infrastructure planning to discuss current transportation issues facing East Williamson County as well as local and regional plans for the area.
As a member of the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO), I was able to secure $10 million in funding for the expansion of FM 1460. This was commended by the City of Round Rock as a critical solution to the traffic congestion that has resulted from the massive growth in the area.
